Through the knowledge and observation of nature, Luis (aka VENA2) creates with art, visual symbols and a speech loaded with conscience to inhabit public and private spaces. He has lived and worked in his home town Leon as well as Tijuana, Mexico City, Los Angeles, diversifying his cultural vision and his photography, graphic design and visual arts studies. His work proposes the conceptualization of images taking them to the limit of experimentation and vanguard, always searching for the beauty and harmony with nature. Because of his peculiar vision he usually develops himself in important visual art, music and fashion projects. He has been named the best nacional designer in 2007 by the Magazine Ambientes. In his work and collaborations include those made for brands such as Puma, Nike, Vans, Camel, Sony Ericsson, among others. He has had exhibitions in cities such as: DF, New York, Tokyo and Zaragoza, his work has been published internationally in Japan, Barcelona, New York, Venezuela and Germany, as well as in national magazines such as: Magazine Pic-Nic, Celeste Magazine, Scale Journal, Magazine to! Design, among others.

Aleph Molinari studied Economics and Critical Theory at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. In 2006, in conjunction with the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM), Aleph conducted an in-depth study on the effects of solid residue disposal and urban approaches to Mexico City’s periphery. The study formed the conceptual basis of a documentary film on the processes of Mexico City’s trash cycle and the lives of trash pickers living in the outskirts of the city.

In 2008 Aleph founded the Fundación Proacceso ECO with the objective of reducing the digital divide and providing access to quality education. After two years of designing the project, the Red de Innovación y Aprendizaje (RIA) or Learning and Innovation Network was inaugurated in 2009 as a network of community centers that provide education with the use of technology. Today, the network has grown to 42 educational centers located in 28 municipalities with a high degree of poverty and lack of infrastructure. The RIA has currently reached more than 115,000 users in less than two years of operating and has graduated more than 28,000 users. By the end of this year the network will be expanded to 70 educational centers and will reach approximately 350,000 users by the end of 2012. Aleph has presented the model of the RIA twice at the Annual Forums of the OECD.

Mijo de la Palma is a fleeting convergence allowing a range of viewers from a dreamlike atmosphere and tangible reality that occurs in the sensory area of the recesses. Just come and feel people and the dismal environment is created in the light of candles, we know that it won’t be a common night.

His work is characterized by the diversity of mediums, taking common elements out of context to re signify them in different levels. The only constant is the exploration of duality as a tool to “see”, by drawing parallaxes between seemingly distant worlds. The result often blurs the line between art and other disciplines such as design, entertainment or scientific speculation.

Elements recur consistently throughout the work, creating a system-language that is revealed as it develops, just like a story. His exhibition PLAY was touring in the U.S.. Using board games as metaphors, Nacho proposes six principles as the basis for a conscious society that he calls the Collective Experience.

Author, speaker, and award-winning director Mark Vicente was part of the creative team behind the sleeper hit “What The Bleep Do We Know?!” (¿¡Y tú qué sabes!?). Several books have been written about the film’s remarkable grassroots marketing campaign, which led to its unprecedented success.

Mark was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1965. His first big break came as Director of Photography on the musical “Sarafina,” starring Whoopi Goldberg. In 1992, he set his sights on Hollywood and shot his first studio picture for Disney entitled “Fatherhood,” starring Patrick Swayze and Halle Berry. At the age of 26, he became one of the youngest cinematographers to shoot a big budget studio picture. Over the next 10 years, he went on to shoot an additional 14 feature films. At present, Mark is Executive Producer and Writer of the upcoming feature film “Bending Time”, a sci-fi spy thriller and is slated to direct the political drama “Carbon Crimes” in 2011.

Deeply moved by the unprecedented violence, taking place in Mexico, and perhaps because of the very obvious iniquities in his native South Africa – Mark is currently in post production on Incendiar el Corazón , a film about non-violent protest movements who have been deeply affected by the fear of kidnapping, robbery and gang violence. This has taken Mark and his team from the lives of the wealthy… to the slums of Mexico… to the police struggling with violence… to kidnappers serving life terms in prison. All in an effort to understand this struggle from a humanitarian perspective rather the never-ending cycle of blaming others. What is the cause of un-ethical, anti-humanitarian behavior? And what internal changes would we need to make to change our world?

markvicente.com , incendiarelcorazon.com

Having also one of the most prolific and recognizable sounds to emerge in modern music and vocal prowess, her masterful career has spanned over a wide range of projects with world renown music producers and artists such as Mark Ronson, Roger Sanchez, Guru’s Jazzmatazz, Madonna, Sly and Robbie, Malcom Mclaren, Dead Prez, and many more. Davenport’s long-standing midas touch with trendsetting productions that mark her skill to develop music that establishes waves of culture, creative direction and identity. Her triumphant and recent return to the British funk band The Brand New Heavies, has also been applauded and celebrated bringing added vibrancy back onto the world stage.
As one of Britain’s most innovative and celebrated composers, Michael Nyman’s work encompasses operas and string quartets, film soundtracks and orchestral concertos. He is also a performer, conductor, bandleader, pianist, author, musicologist and now a photographer and film-maker. Nyman first made his mark on the musical world in the late 1960s, when he invented the term ‘minimalism’ and, still in his mid-twenties wrote the libretto for Birtwistle’s 1969 opera Down By The Greenwood Side. In 1976 he formed his own ensemble, the Campiello Band (now the Michael Nyman Band) and over three decades and more, the group has been the laboratory for much of his inventive and experimental compositional work.

His most notable scores number a dozen Peter Greenaway films, including such classics as The Draughtsman’s Contract and The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover; Neil Jordan’s The End Of The Affair; several Michael Winterbottom features including Wonderland and A Cock And Bull Story; the Hollywood blockbuster Gattaca – and, of course, his unforgettable music for Jane Campion’s 1993 film, The Piano, the soundtrack album of which has sold more than three million copies. He also co-wrote the score for the 1999 film Ravenous with his friend and sometime protégé, Damon Albarn. Most recently his music was used in the 2009 BAFTA award winning and Oscar nominated film, Man on Wire. His operas include The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat (1986) and Facing Goya (2000) and he has provided ballet music for a number of the world’s most distinguished choreographers.

Since 1994 he has organized over 75 temporary site-specific installations in the United States and abroad. Tunick’s installations encompass dozens, hundreds or thousands of volunteers; and his photographs are records of these events. The individuals en masse, without their clothing, grouped together metamorphose into a new shape. The bodies extend into and upon the landscape, like a substance. These grouped masses which do not underscore sexuality become abstractions that challenge or reconfigure one’s views of nudity and privacy. The work also refers to the complex issue of presenting art in permanent or temporary public spaces.
