Entrepreneur, active angel investor and passionate about innovation and technology, born in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. Alexis is a multidisciplinary individual with a solid background in the financial and consumer technology industry with professional knowledge in financial markets, investment strategies, economic sciences, technology, bio-manufacturing, software design and development, creation, development and valuation of Companies, among other things. He is passionate about consumer technology, market trends research and the creation and development of high performance teams. Alexis Co-Founded Polybion® with his brother Axel Gómez-Ortigoza and Dr. Bárbara González Rolón, in a basement of an Innovation Center of the Government of Guanajuato in the City of Salamanca in 2015. Today Polybion® is the Latin American leader in the development, production and sale of Bio-Materials. Polybion® has developed Fungicel®, a BioPolymer grown from agricultural waste and fungal mycelium that can replace expanded polystyrene in a large number of applications, its second Celium® Mango Leather material, is leather grown from agroindustrial waste such as Mango shell and genetically modified bacteria to process and convert these organic mango fibers into a BioTextile that looks and smells like animal leather, but is free of animals and plastic. Polybion® has managed to develop materials manufacturing processes, manipulating the main building blocks of life, DNA, lipids, proteins and carbohydrates, this new way of biological fabrication, is known as BioManufacturing and represents the future for the vast majority of productive industries.
